Hi i have dm800se clone,i use 2 pen drives one for crossepg and the other for timeshift and recording.
I have a small hard drive (60gb) i can install.question is.... is it possible for the timeshift, recording, and crossepg to all use same hard disk..all in one sort of thing and eliminate the need for usb pen drives.?
cheers

Yes you can do that but I prefer to keeps the EPG data and Picons on flash as if the disk is asleep then there'll be a delay whilst the drive spins back up again.

as he said your best option is usb for time shift i got a nano one from eBay don't stick out then, 60gb hard drive will be ok but you wont be able to store much HD stuff on it as HD soon eats up space.

The only thing that would bring the drive out of sleep is picons and recording,EPG is stored in flash after the initial boot-up

I've read this to be the case but I still keep the EPG on USB. Also if like me you have permanent time shift running then the disk will never go to sleep whilst the box is on.

So do I m8 otherwise it will take up twice as much room in flash,as for permanent timeshift I could never see the point tbh,but you are correct it would be much better on a USB stick :)
