That looks like a good log m8,is that before you rebooted and re ran crossepg?

i ran crossepg update and it all went ok, but when i looked via ftp it hadn.t updated epg.dat file so i rebooted and updated again and this time it updated fine.

EDIT: thinking back im not sure if that log was from epg failure or success will check tomorrow and compair them.

Napster if your running DBUK image, when you press the blue button you will find an option for cron manager,
select the "add command with time" and you will see some wording highlighted, arrow right to the number 4 (thats the hour) and change it to suit ,maybe 5,then press ok to accept it,

Now your box is set to reboot at 5 am,see if that helps with the epg not updating and lets know :)

im running dititalworldz v1 image m8 will have to check see if thats installed.

is thee a plugin for cron manager m8

Thank m8 I can't get hold of remote, I will look myself in plugins tomorrow as well.

i had a look for the crom manager plug in but was unable to find it :(

Is there a cron folder in /etc on your box m8?

hmm ok can you telnet into the box and run the ps command,
just want to check if cron is running, should be something along the lines of crond in there somewhere :)

thats me buggered then telnet, dont have a clue about that a plugin would have been better, i have a feeling crom manager was removed when digital image was made.

lol I just wanted to see if cron was running,ok no worries I'll keep working at it m8

I'm sure you can get chronmanager from either TSPanel plugins or the extension manager and I am sure it is spelt with an H. ie...
CHRONMANAGER I uninstalled it just last week as I didnt know what it did. I'll go see if I can find some info on it,

I too was having the same problem and "I THINK" I fixed it by discovering that the tick boxes for the UK 28e providers had come unchecked for some reason in the xlpg/rytec providers area. I dont know why this happened, I just know when I ticked them again, My EPG started working again.
But remember I'm a noob to DM's so it might have been something else cuasing my problem.

This is for opentv mate not rytec :)

Sorry Rat I should have been clearer as I was trying to reply and help by memory,
Retracing my steps now, The error I had was the same and to resolve it I had to put the ticks back in on ALL the UK options on all the providers including the openTV ones it was just those that pointed to 28e that I did.
I have found a backup I had that had the error in it and I just followed the steps above again, only doing the opentv providers and that worked as well like I say I am a noob as you know with Linux boxes, but the error Napster had sounded the same as mine where crossepg went through the download process and everything else but then the EPG did not actually update.

BTW:- I have also just checked and it is spelt Cronmanager without the "H" the version I have is...
Cronmanager Enigma2 Plugin 2.2 by Gutemine. It came with the box, but I am sure I saw it while searching for new addons in TSPanel.
I've searched through the options available in Manage Extensions but I cant find it in there so I must have seen it in TSPanel.

Hope I've not confused the issue, just trying to be helpful as so many of you have been to me in the past.

I've spent some time looking into this and I'm beginning to convince myself that the problem lies with the dm800se itself?

The reason I say this is my dm800se from time to time does do weird things like, when I reflash it sometimes gets stuck at the SIM2/dhcp screen. If I restart from the remote menus the box will sometimes stick/hang with the orange loading bar at around a third and the blue status light on indicating that the box has locked. Other times it will stick at the SIM2/dhcp screen. If I do a restart of enigma2 or do restart via DCC then I can get both of the problems I've described.

I never had any of these problems with the dm800hd pro, that box never once missed a beat. Is this a problem with my box or have others seen similar type problems or issues?

to be honest i think you could be right, i have had things like making a backup and when it finished and rebooted i have no epg i have to re download it, sometimes i full restart from menu button and it just hangs have to switch it off and then its fine.
