Hello all,

I have returned to this forum after a good few years, I have got the old Dreambox 800 out and decided to have a mess.
Just wanted to say Hello.....as if I were a 'new member'.

I could do with some advice...and am probably asking in the wrong section.

I tried to flash the dm800 hd pvr......got the 'no ca' problem...I have rectified this.
I have tried to flash about 20 different images.....to get it working again...with no success.....they go in but don't work.

I am also unsure if it is a clone or genuine......it has heatsink & fan, sim has a white glue lump and hologram but other things seem genuine black pins, 800rev etc.

Do I need to update the 'bootloader' and if so how ?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome back to DW, not sure to move this to the dreambox sections or leave it here for the reunion party...

I am sure someone will help you very shortly, or move it lol.

Regards
Mick

would advise you find out for sure what sim you have

Firstly,

thanks for all your quick replies.

The Hologram seems to end in 01 and starts with what looks like Si......(presumably Sim?)

images load to the first 'Loading' page and then restart/cycle.

The images you got to at least flash what were they called ?

Alow with the box in browser flashing mode login to the flashing page. What is the ssl it reports there ?

The boot loop thing could be a weak PSU try another.

thanks again I will try another power supply....never thought of that
All the older ones on the downloads page (clones)

can't remember them all......'Neverland, Open Pl, Nemesis, Blackhole to roughly name a few.

I have tried original also but these cause 'No C.A. Problem'.

Again thanks for all your help...... I will carry on until I beat it if possible.....but if it takes a week or so then thats what it takes.

old netgear router psu will work fine on your box if stuck

I tried Alimacs download, went in ok but on 'reboot' hangs half way through first screen - shows half a picture of a Dreambox - one difference it did not restart/cycle, but still shows +++ STOP+++ and IP address on LED screen......doesn't seem to try to boot.

Well we have ruled out an image issue so have you tried another PSU ?

Another thing to try remove the tuner if it boots fully then your tuner is goosed.

I have got a 5A 12v power pack and am using that.....still restarting/cycling.....tried a fresh unzip of Alimacs file....the first was done on a mac the second on XP machine...the second time the image went in, boots to FULL picture of dm800 box.....and then recycles over and over.

I'll try the tuner......Last thing today....I will be dreaming of recurring logo's.

but thanks for the help.

took tuner out ...that was a job in its self.
It booted....""Hooray""........to 'service unavailable check tuner configuration'.
Looks like its the tuner.

Everyone thanks for you help....I'll try reseating it.

glad you got to root of issue mate
