dm800hd clone bootloader #76

bought another dreambox 800hd clone for my brother its got bootloader #76 would like to upgrade to ssl84d the same as my own do I have to upgrade the bootloader is so can you point me to a how to be obliged again thanks.

You have a to flash a version of the 84ssl first then the 84d image of your choice.

so am I correct in saying I flash the ssl84 bootloader first then the ss84d image second.
do I reboot the box after I flash the bootloader or just flah bootloader followed by image ?
I see theres 2 files in the bootloader nfi and bin what one do I use thanks.

Yeah boot loader and image no rennot needed after flashing ssl nfi will flash like an image via your browser takes seconds.

don't know what iam doing wrong power on the box to stop got the ip address open internet ex
type in ip go to upgrade browse to the nfi file that says sim 2.01_ssl84d.nfi and hit flash but nothing happens waited 5 mins still nothing happens can you help cheers.

Its the browser you are using, Internet Explorer 5 works ok and so did the older Firefox. Newer browsers wont work. I would also load the firmware first, leave that browser open and open another browser at the same time log back to the ip address and then load the bootloader. Then reboot the box, that is how I do my genuine 800hd .

what browser can I use I just want to update image as I don't like Gemini thanks

image can take a good few minutes to start

yes it seems to do nothing when the box is rebooted it still says #76 with the Gemini image ? I take it iam using the correct file nfi and not using bin file.
this is the bootloader file iam using sim201_800HD_ssl84D_FOR_DRV20130607

try flashing the bootloader again you will probably miss it going as its rapid then without rebooting hit back button on browser try flash an image again

tried several times now doing my head in now I know its connected ok to the net ive ftp my line and sent over my channel list ok just don't know whats going on.
the only other thing I would like to try is there a #76 blackhole image I can just flash to the box without updating the bootloader thanks.

I have another sim card with ssl82 can I change the sim and try updating the image would that work or screw the box up ?

You can yes but that sim obviously restricted to 82 images id be more inclined to find out why the 84 update does not work. Going back to that you could use dreamup and a null modem cable and try flash the bin file version.
