Hi

I currently have a Technomate TM800hd and i have grown tired of its bugs and lack of support so im going to buy a dreambox as they seem to be the most popular box with better support

Can anyone give me some advice on where to buy one please
i dont want to spend anymore than £200

Im going to use it on 28e with a mgcam emulator, i read a bit about diffrent tuners and overheating so some advice on that would be helpfull
im looking for the best most reliable EPG i can find so will the dreambox 800hd se be the best option? or do other boxes offer better EPG's

The technomate was stuck using cool epg version 2.2 i think and could go no further and most the time needed to be manually updated its just a pain

A good EPG is the most important element to me as well as ease of use for the wife.
i can do all the tech side setup etc she just wants a simple to use EPG or the box goes through the window

As far as im aware, the tm800hd is an enigma2 box. (I could be wrong)
The dm800hd se is also an enigma2 box, so will use similar images, and layout of stuff including the epg will be the same. There is an option of automatically updating the epg at a set time...And Im pretty sure theres a way of doing this on your current box too.

The only "wife friendly" receiver that exists is the official stuff from sky.

With a £200 budget the VU DUO Twin Tuner clone is within your budget I would seriously suggest you consider one of these they cost around £191.

The best Dreambox model you can get for that budget is the DM800SE clone ... There is generally only one type of tuner on the 800SE which is the Broadcom BCM based tuner....but some manufacturers also sell the 800SE with a Rev M tuner from the older 800PRO. Either way both tuners are fine without any issues.

The different tuners issue was with the 800HD (non SE) clones...so if you want to buy a non 800SE clone like a 800 HD PRO make sure you get a REV M tuner.
The price break down are like this:

- DM800HD PRO (non SE) SIM 2.10 clone = £110
- DM800SE SIM2.1 clone = £150
- DM800SE SR4 Combo DVB C/S/T tuner built in WIFI = £170

DM800SE do not have any over heating issues they have a larger internal fully software controllable fan, the overheating issues exist on some older 800HD (non SE) clones and originals for that matter..
