Thinking of buying a Dream 800 Hd clone were to start?

Hi guys Iam thinking off buying a Dreambox HD 800 Clone. Does anyone know the best place to get one cheap or better options. I was thinking of a open box but think a dreambox 800 clone better. Iam new to this scene and is it easy to set up a Dreambox

It's easy peasy and if I were you and was looking at a dm800 id get the dm800se we can't discuss sellers but I can pm you where I got mine

Yes it is also HD, think of it as the 800HDs' better brother, the 800HD can be sluggish in responding to remote control commands, everything inside is also a pretty tight fit. The 800SE has a faster processor, is a slighty bigger box so has plenty of room inside including a decent sized cooling fan and the box responds to remote control command with no delays.

From China it should come in at around £150 ish inc delivered to your door.

Thanks for the info fellas ive also emptied inbox :-D What the life of these boxes do they last long cause had a cable eurovox ages ago and niagra 3 stopped it working :-D I think the 800SE is my choice but not to confident in setting it up.

Whats the diffrence really between a cheap Openbox and Dream box 800 se clone? Can I record 2 channels on Dream box? Also is it just a case of putting server details in once recieve my box? Cheers

Openbox is a cheap and cheerful no frills box. It does no have the same hardware spec or features as a 800SE. Openbox is closed source , the EPG is only now and next, there is no capibility for additional plugins or different images to be installed.
There is no internal hard disc capibility via SATA.

800SE has a higher hardware spec, capibility for much better 7 day EPG, internal hard disc, lots of different software images avalable. Open source Enigma 2 Linux based OS. It's over double th cost of an openbox...but also vastly superior...

Thanks for clearing that up for me gsmtech As a total newbie to the scene what option should I take? I have a few servers in mind but not sure how easy it is to get setup with the 800SE. Iam just after UK Sly on my box and the ability to record really. The Dream box SE 800 seems to be calling me :-D

How technically minded are you? The dreambox has a steeper learning curve but the rewards are far greater! The openbox what you see is what you get, ten minutes to setup but all you can do is literally see what's on at that point and watch it. Also decent channel lists are few and far between which means everything will be all jumbled about. but with the dreambox once setup you can get a 7 day guide and a fantastic channel list for sly provided by our very own member Rat

Iam not to bad with technical stuff I guess. So it takes alot long longer to get the Dream Box running with a server? My Sky Sub runs out in a few weeks so will make a order of a 800 SE and see how I get on :-D
