Just got a new dm800pro and it has the new heat sink, but has came with an L shaped sata connector.

Basically means an internal sata drive should fit but will now need to see what the room above the disk is like, but on first impressions it looks good.

It is also possible some retailers are shipping dm800pros with L3 tuners and not advising the seller.

Will update when i get home

L3 tuners are bad news....major glitching on HD channels. Probably they are trying to get rid of old stocks of L3 tuners. The L- Shaped SATA connector is intresting, have you got any pics of it or the board ? Is it still labelled as a Rev L board or is a new revision for these boards ?

I've also supposedly got 1 of these 'special' cables slowly speeding its way to me, 13 days and counting :)

13 days WTF?

The L3 could have been my supplier or it also could have been a buyer pulling a fast one.

Board is still the REV:L one

This is it as normal with the L shaped sata, pretty tight and is right up against the heat sink

This is it if you use double sided tape and push as much to the right as you can, also need a shorter screw to hold the cradle

I thought i would also try this aswell. HDD is attached using screws and the cradle is attached using a short screw again

All work fine and the lid goes back on.

I actually like the method in the last pic as the cable is then sorted as well. With the other and previous methods the cable had to be packed in due to it being longer than required, also the packing occurred near to the older heatsink/fan which meant there was a danger of the cable(s) touching the fan and causing an unholy shrieking noise.

The tuner in the pic looks like the normal rev M doesn't it?

Yeah, That is the REV M tuner.

This is a new batch i have got.

20120210_111731.jpgi had few rev m tuners , underside saying 10v , gave me tune failed on hd channels, box would work for 2-10 hrs, then get tune failed on all hd channels but sd fine, the front led would flicker as well, replaced with a 10f one and all is good, this wasnt random either . i tried 5 different 10v tuners all gave me tune failed but random some lasted longer then others, but if left to rest would work again, some would do it within 5mins, only on hd channels, wierd and fustrating

Those 10f and 10v are the same parts aren't they, a quick google seems to suggest they are the same but as you've found a diff I wonder what it is actually ?

I found the ones that say 10f worked and 10v didnt, i dont know it was that part that caused the fault or not
