Ive noticed today, that my dm800 takes ages booting up. 5min+ maybe even 10.

Also sometimes when changing channels it will hang, and start loading. wait 2-3mins, and then change channels. Ive noticed that this mostly happens when changing from a HD channel.

Im not too sure what the problem is, im not using too many plugins.
Only plugins are:

TSpanel
MgCamd 1.38
CrossEPG
Permanent Timeshift..
I think thats it. Anyway to quicken it up. Because i think that 2 mins to change from a HD channel is a bit excessive.

Personally I'd start again from scratch. Re-flash and install plugins, settings and c line again

Yep I would agree with Mark above, but I have heard they are a bugger on boot up times,
but channel zapping shouldn't take 2 mins

The thing is, i thought my old image was slow (dreamelite blackhole). So just flashed it yesterday with dream elite v2.1 and upgraded the bootloader.

It was ok when i flashed it, but after installing the above plugins. The boot times have gone through the roof. Could it be becuase of permanent timeshift ?

Its possible m8 as this is one plugin that a few people have problems with,
why anybody needs it is beyond me as I just press the timeshift button if I need it,
having this running all the time could cause problems especially if its recording to a hard drive,as this will generate heat and that can also effect the box.

I didn't even know that you could have permanent time shift on it? what would you use it for? I can see it's advantage if your just about to fire up and view the Hadron Collider, other than that I can't see why you would want it...

Got to say that these 800's take a while to boot but you should have no problems between channel changing, above has got to be your culprit!

I assume that you have a HDD or USB drive installed?

I have PTS installed and enabled on my 800HD, the only other plugins I have installed are cccam, mgcamd, virtualzap and rytec EPG importer and my dm boots up in a couple of minutes.

PTS just allows you to pause and rewind live TV, but you obviously have to be watching the channel to start off with. I find it quite handy to pause and or rewind say when a phone call arrives.

Well the point of pts is that if you miss something, then you can just rewind it. there no "i didnt have timeshift on" moment.
IMO, having to turn on timeshift is stupid, and it should be permanent to begin with.

Although i think that this plugin might have been the problem, becuase for the short time that ive tested it without pts on it seems ok. Also might be my usb drive, as it snt the fastest drive in the world. So much so that it stutters and glitches when playing back any HD timeshift. Might try a faster drive becuase id prefer to have pts if i can.
