hi, downloaded some software up dates through the receiver and after, rebooting itself only says sim2 on reciever with no tv picture. the start up screen on reciever says ssl84A. not sure what make of clone it is but can i still use the sunray recovery tool? and also instead of putting the ssl82 on which comes with the pack can i then put ssl84A on?
many thanks

sorry just realised i put this in wrong section, could someone move it to the right place please

Ok moved for you m8,

Can you still get into the mini-web to flash a new bootloader/image?

no i cant get on through the mini web?
thanks for moving.

bootloader appears to be intact so miniweb should work. If not you can use a Sunray Flashup Tool to recover it. Take the cover off the box first and check the SIM version , however SSL84a and SIM2 on the display more or less confirm it's a SIM2.1 reciever though, if it's got a sunray badge then it's defiinitely SIM2.1.
Restore a SSL84 bootlaoder and image via Sunray flashup and Mini USB. I had a stubborn one the other week which refused to boot images with SSL 84, I had to restore to SSL82 first then upgrade.
Dont use the online update feature in images it can over write Enigma 2 patches and bootloaders causing issues with clones.

just managed to connect with it using suray recovery, put ssl84 on first and that was okay then went and flashed it without rebooting to the clone image dreambox uk 2.1.1. right after loading it came up with error this box is unusable due to firmware old version? and now when i've switched it back on i've got R01: no ca found? will take your advice and not up through box. but i think ive seen a thread on"no ca found" that but will have a look.
thanks for your help.

yah!! have done it, after reading the thread dm800se.. gimped, i was a bit peeded off and thought i had the same problem with a loose connection on the mini usb. but i carried on readind the thread and Dibbers had mentioned about using sunray dream up and not original dreamup. so i ran the sunray version and it connected with the box and no message saying R01: NO CA FOUND, I succesfully flashed ssl4a then i put dreamboxuk 2.1 and not 2.1.1, rebooted and all was good,
thanks all for your help
