Hi,

Just got a new hd800se(clone) and was setting it up and it wont output using the hdmi cable. I have tried 2 different cables, 2 different tvs and 2 different power supplies and it still doesnt work. If i connect using scart it works fine. I have has a look at the av settings and it doesnt really have a output to, ou can just change different settings for different outputs.

I had a small look at the hdmi connector and it has a pin either side and one of them is not soldered properly and moves and i think this has caused the little metal bits at the back to come off the system board.

Can some with more electrical knowledge tell me if this can rectified for cheap or would i be easier shipping back to china, who i am trying to get answers from at the moment.

Thanks, it looks a nice box aswell.

get a hdmi to hd converter and just use a hd lead m8

Took it apart tonight and the hdmi connection basically just falls off

Shit, I'd probably be able to re-solder that back on but it's definitely not a task for the novice

Having taken a second look, where the connector solders to the board are the tracks different colours as the tracks been ripped off?

I think it is a different colour because that is where it was connected to the connectors. I am taking it to a sound and audio shop and the guy will have a look to see if he can do it or not. After a good bit of talking on msn the supplier have strewn to change it but shipping to china is not cheap.

Thanks for the help

Could be, if that's the case then some liquid flux and a quick reflow with a suitable soldering iron should sort that out. let us know how you get on.

Took it to the shop and the guy has managed to fix it and it only cost a tenner. Just done an update and i think it has bricked the box as it starts to boot andshows a picture of dm800se box and then just get no signal on tv and lcd panel goes black. Off to find sunray dreamup thing. Shouldnt be so eager next time and do a plan.

Be careful when you are inserting the mini usb lead in the back of the Dreambox as I had the same problem with that coming adrift . I too to get it resoldered and resurrected my box with sunray the mini usb and the ethernet leads.
