Hi guys I am having a problem with my dreambox dm800se, it's a clone, the problem I am having is that I set the TUNER so that it is simple positioner, I then got my longitude and latitude from google maps, but when I go into scan a channel (manual and automatic) all I get is astra 28.2?

It wont scan anything else?

It does not show hotbird, astra 19, thor, eutel, it won't even let me choose any other satellite other than astra 28.2 ???

I even downloaded the settings for a rotor, and when I go into the channels menu - all the channels are greyed out and if I click one it says tuner configuration problem???

I really like the dm800se box, but this ROTOR / TUNER / CONFIGURATION problem is really annoying.

I am sure that - simple positioner is the right choice here?

Some help from the experts would be fantastic before this dm800se nearly goes out the window for a 4th time.

Mick

can you get the long/lat and whatever details needed from your other box that worked mate ?

all my channels from my bouquet were greyed out at one point and I needed a reboot

they are the same usals settings mate, longitude and latitude are exactly the same?

This rotor configuration is a little crazy lol... I mean the dm800se has far to much configuration lol.

But have I done the right settin for a Motorised satellite dish mate, Simple positioner ?

I presume you did change the Longitude from East to West?

I have exactly the same, except I do not have the same longitude and latitude (obviously lol)

Cheers

Mick.

mine aint scanning other sats either :err:

just tried 19.2 and nothing found

whats posiitoner setup ? gotta do something in there too ?

Have never done a satellite scan tbh just used my Bouquets from my TM600,
I will try a scan later tonite and report back after I've watched the match lol

Stooopid fecking thing, turn on my dm600 tell it what I sats I want... or just choose satellite rotor... and bang its done.

What a stupid fecking thing pmsl.

Still dunno how to scan other satellites ????

Mick

Heres my setting for single satellite manual scan on 19.2E which worked perfectly,
missed the fecking Utd goal to get you this :(

Lol

I managed to fix this problem

Reflashed the image, and the boot file pmsl (say no more)

I then used the wizard to set it up, with the ROTOR settings, but I never scanned for any sats, I then installed the rytec plugin for ROTOR (settings), I then rebooted the machine (to be on the safe side).

I then tested a few sats and it moved to them with no problem, I would recommend not doing any scanning at all.

I also think there maybe an issue with the DBUK bouquets causing it to lock on ASTRA 28.2, I cannot confirm that as I do not want to flash it again lol.

so will find an other bouquets file somewhere.

Mick

mine scans fine put it on multiple sat scan selected 13,19.2 and 28.2
scanned fine.
I would say the sat.xml is naff.

I did try that as well ellie at the time, and nothing.

I got a feeling that it might be the bouquets (DBUK) but not 100%

Mick

Could well be Mick although I'd imagine Rat is using his own Bouquets?

i use a modified vhannibal service file
I reckon the dbuk has a dodgy sat.xml file.
try vhannibal or catseyes from the server
green, green, settings

The DBuk sat.xml is only for 28.2 it's not for multisat.

Yeah but on my old dreamboxes (and I have had a few!!!) If I setup the satellites and the channels before, installing a new bouquet would not effect my other channels, and would certainly not stop the motor turning or greying out channels.

That cannot be the desired effect, if it is... there is a massive FLAW in the dm800se bouquets!

Mick

sounds like the dboxuk bouqutes rewrites the sat.xml with a modified one, it's not the boxes fault it's the fault of the dboxuk bouquet writers.
put the dboxuk bouquets on your 600 and that will only scan 28.2 as well.
the box will only scan what is in the satellite.xml, not just the 800se but any linux box.
As I say nothing wrong with the box just the bouquets having a shit satellite.xml.

If you download the bouquets from the Dbuk image it will overwrite the sat.xml that was originally on the box, and install a sat.xml that only covers 28.2, that is why the motor won't turn to other sats, and channels greyed out, you would then need to ftp an new multisat xml file to your box.

Dbuk have always stated from the very start of there DBUK update software, that the sat.xml file is not any good if you use multisats.

Actually it's the lame.db file as well as the sat.xml
