New Dreambox DM800s HD PVR with the latest 76 bootloader
Latest Gemini Firmware (5.1)
CCam 2.2.1 and UK Bouqets Pre-Installed + 250gb SATA HD Installed (Toshiba or Samsung)
Hi want to buy a dm 800hd the above is being sold on ebay i know nothing about this box my question is has this item above got all the latest images and cam installed tried to read which is best image and so on to be installed and completely confused is it pli - black edition - can any one help please kind regards mial ( newbie )

does it say what rev tuner it has in mate, as to be honest you want the latest rev m tuner as all the 1s before were prone to glitching, but it has been sorted in the rev m tuner, and to be honest you dont need to worry what image is on it or what cam it comes with as all this can be changed if you got it, but if that box you mention isnt a dm 800 pro with the rev m tuner i wouldnt bother!

I would suggest, that you do a lot of reading and research first. Dm800HD is a great reciever, but as with all Linux recievers there is a learning curve.

you should have some basic computer and networking knowledge, or be prepared to learn it, although most clone recibers come pre flashed with a Gemini image, you will still have to use FTP to copy across any CAM config files etc.

Also in the event of something going wrong, you may have to reflash the reciever with a new image using a serial null modem cable or over your LAN.

If your not confident with such things, a closed source non-linux reciever maybe more suitable they will still support CS and some will also support 7 day EPG.

Personally I think Linux recievers are far superior to closed source, so it;s beneficial to put the initial learning in.
