dm 800hd, is it a clone or real???????

iv got a 800hd pvr here from a friend, he says the person he got it off paid over £300 for it when he bought it last year, which would suggest to me its real, if hes telling the truth of course, but how the hell would i be able to tell if its real or not, is there anything i can do to find out.

i know on the dreambox site you can clarify a real box by a serial code built into the box, but iv loaded nabilo blackhole 012 so can i get that number from within that image. its currently got a cable tuner in but id sharp sort that out if its worth my time!

any help much appreciated!

just flash a brand new out image to it and if it is a clone you will get the no ca error

ahhh well i got that error last night when i flashed a nabilo image, so its a clone then!

Also the sim in a clone you can take out but in the real ones ther is a lump of glue over the sim holder.

cheers goose defo a clone then, im giving him it back im just gunna buy a new un. was gunna try and get it out of him cheap but he can have it back now, would of cost me £100 with the tuner cost aswell so id rather put the rest for a brand new box, cheers!

Yeah your right enough, you would be better just buying a new one, when you add all the costs up.

I would have thought 100 quid was a good price for one of these? Sorry did not read properly my bad you would have had to change the tuner yeah better of with new one sorry
