Guys i need a cheap box which is HD with twin tuners that supports CCcam.

I know their is vu duo and dm8000 but they are both expensive. is their anything else out their that can allow me to record and watch at same time.??

Dont know any cheaper but from quick google, openbox s7? have a look at how much that it.

I'm looking to purchase a box with the same specs in the next month or so. Let me know how you get on with finding one please.

The VU+Duo is the best by a mile but not cheap.Would love one myself.

Been thinking about the VU+ Duo, does it just take standard DM images or are there images specially written for the hardware?

The Duo takes it own specific images. Easy to flash from a usb stick.

I would recommend the vix image

a bit off topic but what are these spiderbox 7000 like? do they accept c/s and will they work with sly uk??

was going to try the HEAD Medialink ML 9700 HD
it has twin tuner and used its baby brother the black panther
with good results . its a fair bit cheaper than the vu+ duo
at 270 ish

can it act as a server though? if i was spending that much money id push the boat out and get the duo for an extra 100 quid

if you think a box server is worth the £100 then the duo
personally i would use a cheap dreambox for this

Got a vu+ duo and I'm happy with it.
I have the pli open running on it, which I like, it's not to much different to the pli jade images I used to run on my dm600.
Fast channel changing and the picture clarity is good.
Found it pretty easy to setup. There were wizards for most things.
It was the best box I could find for the money, but I haven't had the time or the cash to buy twenty boxes and have them sat side by side testing them all.
Hope you have some joy and let me know if you find something else that's worth it.
My friend wants to go down the HD route but can't seem to get him to splash out on the vu+ duo.
Have seen these Dreambox 800HD PVR Satellite Box, DM800,DM 800S, dreamobx 800S it's only a single tuner, but cheap. £165 think it must be a clone though. And I haven't used the store so don't know if there any good.

At those prices it is definitely a clone and the postage and packing is not cheap. I brought a clone dm800 last April though not from this store and the box works great but find it little annoying not being able to flash all the latest images.

Despite having .co.uk address you'll find that is a Chinese website posting from China.

I've got loads of good boxes, in bulk, from China before but if I was buying only one box I'd pay the little extra for one that's already been imported into the UK and has been verified as working before postage. Quicker postage and no 2 month saga to send it back for about 20 quid more.

After much thought I just ordered the VU+ Duo from Sateuropa.co.uk.

I got it for £333.00 delivered to my house in Guernsey (no tax!). I really do miss the functionality of 2 tuners from my old Sky+ days so despite the fact it's near twice the cost of two DM800's I thought I'd go for it.

I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Cheers I'll avoid that store then
Just seen this store recommended on another thread http://www.primusat.co.uk/index.php...=shop.browse&category_id=6&Itemid=91&TreeId=1
Any good?
What is the benefit of the ferrari card?
Don't seem to do the VU+ or any other boxes at all.
Cheers
Wiz

There is no benefit to Ferarri card at the minute if your buying a new box. The only benefit was if you upgrading from a old SIM1 based box. SIM 2.01 are not compatible with some older SIM 1 based clones.

Primusat is probably one of the cheapest UK sources for clone 800HD's appears to have a good rep on other forums. They only sell Ferarri based clones though. Ferarri card also sponser the clone forum...so be careful what you read and where you read it, theres a lot of politics, and buniness interest involved at certain sites....

Sim 2.01 appear to be better supported, they were the 1st to release bootloaders to allow original images to be run on clones...followed afterwards by Ferarri card. Ferarri bootloaders were buggy with 76F being a flop...they then released 76FF which I believe also had bugs do theyre on 76FF v3 last time I heard which appears to work well.

SIM2.01 is on bootloader 76C. Also Sim 2.01 boxes come with pre-fitted heatsinks and fans, ferarri based boxes do NOT. The retailers will try and tell you Ferarri boxes dont need fan/heatsink etc etc...I dont agree it looks more like cost cutting...

There is however glitching on HD channels reported with L3 tuners fitted to a lot of SIM2.01 based boxes.

The Ferarri vs SIM 2.01 competition is good for buyers, means as they continue to out do each other...more features become availbale to the end user.

Also previously sneaky SIM producers tried to claim new images cant work on current SIMS and a new SIM must be purchased...basically a money making scam...SIMS could be upgraded and images could be patched.

hi all Ijust baught the duo its a great bit of kit the picture qual is better than the dm 800 origanal theres no glitching on any of the hd channels and for the price of a dm800 but with twin tunners as well my opinion agreat buy for £375.00
