It could be but id not take the risk mate, i dont think Gemini/DMM attacked the 600 clones just the 500 but i would not risk it.

Thanks Ferret,

Not too many people around nowadays using DB600, so knowledge is thin on the ground. Understandable considering DB800 and various other boxes etc.

Thanks for the tip. It does however lead me to wonder what is the safest image to use for clone DB600.

Any ideas mate?

Thank you Ferret and IANB.

I would be grateful if you would kindly move the posts to the appropriate thread and thank you both for your assistance.

I shall update the new thread with my findings having flashed the box with the new images.

Morning all,

An update for the forum on the above. To those fewwho do still use the DB600. I can confirm that although the Gemini image is safe to use on clone boxes. It no longer has the option to download cams from the blue panel. Which (in my opinion) renders it largely useless.

Of course, there is always the option of manually inputting the cam via ftp. But (and some may disagree) its a longer method.

Ferret, I'm going to take your advice and load the Open PLi image onto the box. I'm just hoping it has the option to install the cams from the blue pannel. I guess we shall find out soon enough.

I've also read on the Open Pli site that there are plans to stop supporting the dreamboxes. I'll update the forum further when I have more information.

Racking my brain here thinking how it use to work mate E1 is around 8 years back for me.

Find the plugin menu and you may be able to download from there.

Re: [DOWNLOAD] The Gemini Project 4.70 DM600PVR DREAMBOX

Ferret,

That's a fair point. E1 images have been heavily outphased for so many years now with the growth into mainstream of HD boxes and subsequently E2 images. So, delving back into old SD boxes with E1 images is always going to be a pain in the ...

However, I do seem to remember that the blue button led me to the Addons menu and from that I could download cams from the server. But all this was back in 2007, so is easily 7yrs out of date.

I'm going to give it a try and see how I get on. Will update the forum with my findings.

Re: [DOWNLOAD] The Gemini Project 4.70 DM600PVR DREAMBOX

Quick update,

The open Pli image actually didn't work on the DB600, at all.
Instead I got the steady green and red light (at the same time) on the box.

So, I've re-installed the GP image onto both boxes and will now have to manually install the CCam onto both boxes.

I'll keep the forum updated with my progress

Re: [DOWNLOAD] The Gemini Project 4.70 DM600PVR DREAMBOX

Morning Forum,

By way of an update:

The GP image did not brick the clone DM600. However, it does not contain an option to access built in cams. All cams have been removed.

The open PLi image did not work at all.

So, I now use Jade Pli 3, on the clone DM600 which has an option to access a menu for built-in CAMS, including CCcam.
