hi iv ordered my 800 hd pro rev m, with bootloader 76a, and sim 2.01.

now what i need is pointed in the direction of a few different images to try as i cant seem to find any specific to this box, maybe im being thick, it comes with gemini v5.10 on it, is this any good, and what in your opinion is the best image for the box, probably been asked about 1000 that question but i need help and guidance. are most people using the dream elite image, read about that a few times.

will be grateful of any images and general tips or what plugins to use.

all very much appreciated!

Theres nothing different about a DM800 PRO and Normal DM800 clone, apart form the REV M tuner, i've also heard that the Fan switch off mod in standby has been applied...not confirmed though, test it and check. There is alos apparently some board improvements.

But, as far as images are concerened use exactly the same images and any other SIM 2.01 based clone, i.e: Bootloader 76C and any compatible image.

Sent you a PM with the SIM201 Images site theres a whole range of images on there.
Personally I use DreamElite Phoenix Edition with Bootloader 76C. It's a matter of choice though different people like different images.

Yeh the newest SIM 2.01 Bootloader is 76C, There is 76D which is apparently in testing not relaeased yet though.

Some images come with the bootloader already included in which case you dont need to seperately flash the bootlaoder after the image.

If you use an original unpatched image, you will have to seperately flash the bootlaoder after the image other wise the box wont boot and youll get "NO CA ERROR" you'll have recover the box over serial with patched version of Dreamup them.

You;ll have no issues going straight from 76A to 76C. Best to use the latest current bootloader.

You can get Bootloader 76C from the website link I sent you. The DreamElite Phoniex edition comes in two versions one with bootloader 76C included already, and one without.

Easiest way to flash is to plug in the reciever to your router with an ether net cable.

Power down the box, power it backup with the front power button held down, keep it help untill you see ***STOP*** on the front display, it should show you a DHCP IP address.

Let go of the power button and from your PC (also conencted to your LAN), open a web browser and navigate to the IP address shown on the Dreambox display.

This will take you to a page from where you can browse to the image file on your PC and flash it to the box.

If yout flashing a image WITHOUT an integrated bootloader then DO NOT reboot the box after the image flash is complete, instead refresh the web browser and choose flash firmware again and this time flash the bootloader file by itself.

Then reboot the box, if your using a image with integrated Bootloader, then you can reboot after flashing the single image file, no need to seperately flash the bootlaoder.

this is the image i have downloaded to flash

Free przitaly images Download (Only for NEWB DM800 SIM2)--UNOFFICIAL DREAM ELITE V.133DV3 PHOENIX EDITION

im assuming the ssl 76c in the image name is the bootloader incorporated into the image so i shouldnt have to flash a bootloader after i flash the image as its already built in, am i right in thinking this!

Yeah, looks like thats already got Bootlaoder 76C integrated..you should be good to go, no need to flash seperate bootloader.

Guys, is there a way to tell if the bootloader is incorporated into the image or not?

Normally from the filename or description from whoevers posted the image. If your not sure...safest option is to flash the bootloader seperately anyway..it wont do any harm, that way you've covered yourself just incase the bootlaoder is not included in the image.

Makes sense - thanks mate

what about getting the epg up and running, can i just download the rytek plugin from the image or is it a case of manually ftp'in files, or does it do it automatically, or is it different all together for this box. cant wait to have a decent epg after using my 500s with 3 day epg, hope the hd channels all work sound aswell, should do though with the new revision tuner.

Dream Elite Supports Rytec and Satmate for Sly Uk, install a internal hard disk and just select the Rytec as your souce for EPG from the menus, and select auote EPG refresh, it does the rest for you no need to FTP anything or manually install plugins theyre already included in the image.

I would guess it can work without a hard drive, use the EPG data path as the boxes internal RAM like you can do on a DM500
I have always had a hard disk installed though, so havent tried the EPG withough one..

what drive do i need just any 2.5 sata mate, do you know how much mb the epg takes up on your drive mate, as i would prefer to use a usb pen drive for the epg alone, then the recordings on the hard drive!
