clone image for dm500s

Hi Peeps,

Looking for an image which i can use on my dm500s clone.

The dm500s clone will be working off a server.

I have read up on the clones but there are too many images out there, just wanted to know what other peeps on this forum are using for their dm500s clones.

pli jade maxvar image is what you want mate, cracking stable image, just google pli and download the latest build, flash with dreamup and away you go!

whats the difference between the Jade 1, Jade 2, Jade 3 for Enigma 1 max var?

i just looked now and didnt realise there was 3 different ones

will this do the job on my clone?

not got mine set up yet but it states it is clone friendly

Scan Defaults to 28.2e, if you select another Sat it will save that as the last sat
Compatible driver for clones and Genuine DM500's

Jade are the old images, use the newer OpenPLI images, they have nightly builds and are more up to date.

I've tried several different releases of OpenPli on Clone 500 recievers all have been fine.

MaxVar means stripped down image all the un-neccesary extras have been removed (games etc) to reduce the space taken up on the reciever. DM500's dont have a lot of memory as it is..so a lean image is better. You can add the bits you want from the integrated download mens.

I might try out the commando image on a spare DM500 I have just to see what it;s like.

Yeh it should work, thats the lastest build from last night. Not sure if you need the "old-framebuffer" version though..theres 2 versions of MaxVAR one with "old-framebuffer" and one without. I've always used the one without "old-framebuffer".

been using jade3 maxvar for ages and just 5mins ago i flashed my 500s clone with: OpenPLi-beta-dm500-maxvar-20110125-200

got to say....looks the same to me! only thing that looks different is the startup picture lol

Commando 12, 14, and 14.2 were 100% developed on clone boxes, LOL!

But we've had good quality feedback to the effect that it performs equally well on the genuine DM500S too.

it must be the long names they give images now to make them look more impressive

anyone who use to be in the 500c scene will know that commando was a very stable image with good picture quality

Never used commando before even in the cable days with 500c, always used the DW image. I Know the commando images were quite popular and well recieved on the dbox scene Nokia/Sagem boxes..

When I get a chance I will try out Commando 14.2 on a 500S.

Its not really supported any more mate you be much better off with the commando image.
