Welcome to CameraSim.com!

This is a place to learn how to use your SLR camera and take better photos. My goal for you is the same that I have for myself:

“Take great photos that I can be proud of!”

It’s really as simple as that.
Do I need an SLR camera?

You don’t need the latest, best equipment to take great photos, but a digital SLR camera opens up so many creative options well beyond any point-&-shoot camera. Therefore, that will be the focus of much of this site.

If you don’t have an SLR camera, this is a great place to virtually try an SLR and learn more about them. If you already have an SLR camera but are simply using it in “automatic” mode as if it were a point-&-shoot, you’re missing out! It’s time to learn how to actually use it :)

And yes, you can totally do it!

CameraSim simulates a digital SLR camera - SLR Photography Demystified

Are you ready to graduate to the photography big leagues? Professional photography is about much more than framing and coaxing smiles.

If you want to shoot like the pros using an SLR camera, you'll need to learn about focal lengths, apertures, shutter speeds and film speed ISO. It can get pretty technical!

The SLR Camera Simulator is a very cool website that lets you fiddle around with a virtual SLR camera to achieve a great-looking shot. You'll have to deal with ambient lighting and motion.

This is a useful tool for teaching you the basics of practical SLR photography. You'll be able to control most of the settings of a standard SLR camera.
