I'm going on a skiing holiday and was thinking of getting a drone to record my ski runs, however iv heard they aren't worth getting yet as the image stabilization isn't brilliant, would I be better off waiting a year or so before getting one and just stick with the go pro for now?

Dunno where you heard that. I have a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced. IS is superb, even when it's a bit windy.
Here is a video taken on a fairly windy day. You can see the prop guards at the top of the frame, so the drone was being thrown about a bit. But as you can see, the video is pretty stable. At 4'10 I ease off the throttle. You can see the prop guards disappearing off the top of the frame as the craft levels off but again the video is stable. Sorry it's a bit boring, I've not got round to adding a sound track yet. Any suggestions?

Heard you the first time lol!! The P3 comes with its own camera. IIRC it's the earlier Inspire models that let you use your own Go Pro or whatever.

Tapatalk took a funny turn then lol. I keep looking at drones but I am told a new house is more important [emoji30]

You could always use it for doing your own "surveys". Can't be too careful these days lol! In good conditions the P3 can go several km's- great way to check out the neighbourhood. Just a thought....

I've heard DJI are going to stop manufacturing the Phantom 3 and all other previous generation models across their range to focus on current generation offerings. I fancy a Mavic Pro or an Inspire [emoji3]

It's my birthday soon and I've persuaded SWMBO to let me purchase a GoPro Hero 5 so the drone will be next [emoji1360]
