Hi,
I have a similar problem to "mattbus", i have installed sportser then rebooted the dbox then the box freezes at the sportser logo. Message on the dbox "loading kernel" and thats it, goes no further, i cannot connect via pc or use flash assistant to re install, any advice and information would be greatly appriacated...

Thanks

Thirded for a reflash, it sounds like the image is corrupted.

How do you re flash using IFA, new to all this.... can't you tell:silly:

reflash using the ifa software, linux can be unpredictable and these things happen.use the latest commando image.

thanks for the reply's, i have tryed ifa using the tutorial instructions but still with no joy, with the network ip address im unsure of the ip address.. i have tryed the original ip address but again no joy.... when i turn on and off the pc displays the message "network cable unplugged" for off and connects when on, so the pc does recognise that it is there... when using ifa via instuctions no message appears on the dbox stating "flashing"... hitting a brick wall.. it just boots up then stays on the sportser logo and goes no further... any more help, please as it may be a simple thing that im missing,

again thanks for the replys

Reboot with press up arrow and standby button on the box and let IFA running.

dbox just loads up and goes stright to the sportster logo with no indication of it flashing both on the box and pc... is it my ip address in the network settings in control pannel... thanks for the prompt reply..

make sure all av & firewalls off. switch off dbox at the mains - start ifa - choose image - press start - switch dbox back on - should see flashing...b4 logo

r u using a xover ethernet cable or a std cable with a router?

im using an xover ethernet cable

can you ping the box?

assuming xp
start - run - type 'cmd' - type 'ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' xxx = dbox address
shouldn't need this if using ifa correctly...

Sounds like you have put wrong image

sounds to me like you have put wrong image. basically you need to check how many chipset the box has you can use a programme called checkflashtype i will upload it if you cant find it in the forum, this will tell you whether to use 2x image or 1x image most nokia use 2 chipsets but there are 1 chipsets around i have found most sagems use 1 chipset but again come will 2.
reflash box with all comments in this thread IFA is perfect for flashing.

using the ping method it works and send commands back and to... what does this mean?...
