Folks

Help would be appreciated.

Got a Nokia box from a mate that is knackered. Used to work or so I'm told.
On start up it reboots every 5 seconds or so. Constantly looping.
Tried using IFA. Get the IFA 'LADE SOFTWARE' on lcd, for 5 seconds, then drops into the reboot loop.

Is there a log created by IFA that I could look at ? If so, where does it live?

Does any one have any ideas or is the box ready for the bin ?

Thanks in advance
pelyo

Is your pc showing a network connected when the box is turned on
do you have a nullmodem cable and a crossover cable
When you start the flash process with ifa it takes over the boot procedure
and it switches to a comm window
were you should be able to see all the data
you can then click copy to clipboard and paste any info on here
Hope this helps.

Only problem now is that it still bloody looping!

Any ideas ?
Thanks again

If you post the bootlog we can see what the box is doing when it's booting. Might be able to help more with that.

I'm using my laptop to interface with the dbox so I can only use a crossover cable. No port for a null modem cable.
Any other way to see a bootlog ?

You can use a null modem cable and a usb to serial adapter.

Cheers for that.
I'll have to get my hands on a 'usb to serial adapter' so it may be some time before I can move forward on this issue.
Thanks again.

Ok. If anyone is still out there, I've managed to get a bootlog.

Please see attached.

Doesn't look good though judging by the line that says
*** Warning: CPU Core has Silicon Bugs -- Check the Errata ***

What do you think. Bin it or what ?

Cheers in advance.

Faulty image or hardware fault.
The warning is only for programmers to check the errata before doing any programming for the box.

I know the image is good as I've used it on a couple of boxes without any issues.
So, it's time to strip out the good bits and bin the box from the sound of it?!

Cheers for the input.

Flash a image with null modem and check the flash log.

Tried to flash image using null modem cable.
Set up to use COM12. Not sure what the log means.
Box just stops on initial start screen (the one with the blocks).
Attached log. Does it mean anything to you ?

Latest boot loop attached.
This was done with all firewall and potential blockers turned off.
Any ideas appreciated?

The flashing procedure didn't start.
If you are able to flash your other box with the same network setup, maybe the network device on the box is faulty.

I wasn't trying to flash on this log.
This log was off using boot manager as instructed earlier in the thread.
Have I missed something ?
