I reckon this will release on Sun or Mon based on the last beta taking just two days.. Probably wishful thinking but you never know.

I have to ask myself tho, if the box is running 100% (which mine is), why am I so excited about 2.0???

Waiting was worthwhile itself: As advancement of the so far very successful Sportster neutrino images the Sportster team will publish the version 2.0 for the Digitalreceiver of the type D-box II in the next days. This image differs from the other images by still more aufwaendiger processed, with love arranged, code lines. Also outward it becomes clear that it concerns a completely special version of this image: The Sportster image 2,0 offers a completely new appearance with innovations in the Infoviewer, start -, and to shutdown Logos in new December ducks the Sportster Look. The basic equipment was kept intentionally slim, so that each user its desired features can insert itself. Based on its predecessors the new image will clearly exceed the past Downloadzahlen. The details: A principal item of the new version is supplemental a substantially extended version by SUSI, the Sportster update software Installer, around some extras, which make the operation of the image particularly simple for not Linux experienced users. The Sportster extra is integrated starting from the version 2.0 in the main menue of neutrinos. With Sportster 2,0 it is no longer necessary for the installation of the usual emulations and extensions to make ftp accesses to the D-box and configurations with the text editor. All usual emulations and extensions can be installed, deinstalliert and renewed directly by remote maintenance over the InterNet. The configuration of the emulations takes place in menus on the screen by remote maintenance. A condition for it is only a functioning binding of the D-box to the InterNet. The Sportster 2,0 extras in detail: Image update With appearance of a new version of an Linux image the entire image had to be so far always exchanged with the boat manager or by Ftp Upload and manual update. The personal attitudes of the user and additionally installed extensions were lost thereby. Starting from the 2.0-Version of the Sportster image updates take place directly by means of the software actualization from neutrinos from the InterNet on the D-box II. With this "update by remote maintenance" personal attitudes and additionally installed extensions remain. Plugins On the Sportster/UMP2002-Server a large amount of Plugins frequently used is available, which can be loaded over SUSI automatically from the InterNet and installed on the box. Also the Deinstallation and the execution of updates of the Plugins take place directly in the Sportster extras. "one delivers emulations" Sportster with the Camd2 for the use of premiere Abokarten. Over SUSI can be after-installed by remote maintenance the Camd36, Camd37, EvoCamd, NewCamd, Scam and MgCamd. The Deinstallation and execution of updates with the remote maintenance are possible also here. Sportster recognizes automatically, which emulations are installed and their configuration permits by remote maintenance. So the server and user attitudes can be made by remote maintenance over the picture monitor e.g. with the Camd36/Camd37. Ucode update The usual Ucodes is available down loadable and can be exchanged simply by remote maintenance on the box. Extras the MC frequency and the switching exits of the Multicams can configure to support Friedel Multicam owner of the Friedel Multicam over the Sportster. Cryptanzeige In the "info. bar" Sportster 2,0 represents the installed and at present active emulations as well as those from the current transmitter uses coding procedures including to the decoding if necessary taken place graphically. Documentation At the same time with the image a detailed documentation will be available on the Sportster board. Over Sportster the Sportster team sat down it to the task to provide a professional and also Linux image stable which can be served simply by Linux laymen and. The production of the image takes place in teamwork through approx.. 20 team members. Within the team experienced specialists worry about the ranges programming, Skripting, layout, documentation, beta test and the care and administration of the Sportster board. © http://sportster.ump2002.net
P.S.: The spreading of this press release in other boards in unchanged form is expressly desired

so if im reading it right they are streamlining the code and i think making it smaller, also there is no need in the future to download and reflash the box manually via pc/ftp as you can do this directly through the dbox providing it has a connection to the internet so when new ones come out it's a simple case of using the remote to navigate to the uploads section and then you can select the new image once the site has been loaded on the dbox, although this may be a problem for UK users as the sportster images are initially german and legal to start with but..... another new feature seems to be user configuration retention, so im hoping this means any keys and settings you have saved ie network, weather, channels and bouquets will be retained for the next flashed image...

all in all i have read enough to let myself be a tester from the off...

Just checked on sportster they have taken the announcement off about v 2.0, did a quick search in their forum from what I could make out it is going to be delayed.
I don't know german and babelfish won't decode the forum part of the site so I cut and paste the emails into babelfish, anyone know of any other translation sites ?.
