Just out of interest, when they roll the keys how are the new ones discovered (by whoever posts them on forums etc and in the extraCP) when the auto update isnt working? (just to clarify where is the source of the new keys?)

either eread from a box that is still auto updating or read from a mosc that has updated or from someone who has loged the stream

It is easy to figure out the correct key yourself. If you have auto-update turned on and are using the evocamd cam, when the roll happens your keylist.txt file will start filling up with incorrect keys. if you look at the keys closely you will notice a common key between the incorrect ones. correct one of the incorrect ones and your screen clears. this is confirmation of a correct key. I use progdvb myself so as soon as i have corect key it clears instantly, unlike having to reset or restart cams. there is a setting in mg_cam to load keyfile after every zap, channel change, this would make it easier for you to debug new keys.

That's interesting, Skeith, could you provide an example?

I'm not sure what you mean by noticing a common key between the incorrect ones and how that leads you to correcting one of the incorrect ones . . .

Thanks in advance,

Thx for the reply guys, the stream logging method sounds interesting, does anyone know how that is done?

As were in the Dbox forum I'll assume you want to know about streamlogging on the dbox platform. The simplest method is probably to use a program called dvbsnoop. You can easily set this up to log all data on a particular PID. If you log the Emm PID you will get huge amounts of data. 99.8% of this is useless to you as its private data meant for individual cards (you wont be able to decrypt it) but if you extract the relevant information you can get yourself all the global Emm's. There are about 200 of these (varies slightly between areas). Six of these Emm's will be the keyroll Emm's.

Its a better idea to enable the emm output for evocamd or mgcamd in the config files.
After that you get the decoded emm strings in the log via nullmodem cable and you have only to recalculate key00.
Its also possible to telnet to the box and stop the emu with killall and start it again. After that you get the log output in the telnet screen.
