A satellite Sagem Dbox2 will work for satellite strangely enough!

If you have a Cable Dbox2 then it won't work.

sat boxes r for sat and cable r for cable
the sat box has a screw connection for the sat cable and the cable box has one like an aerial connection

they are more expensive than cable boxes and the channels you can get are limited, my dish is a mono pointed at hotbird and the channels that can be decoded has dropped over the last year.
I mainly keep mine so my daughters boyfriend can watch his turkish stuff when they come around.

My Sat DM500 is my main box now, my cable box is gathering dust :)

(motorised system on a really good CS server)

hi marra,
you can solder in a satellite tuner and the box works with the dish.
the hardware is totally the same exept the tuner. the tuner
as a spare part is about 40 euro.
on astra 19° you have digital+ a great spanish provider,
all films in esp and english and lots of sport.

thanks for the replies i currently have a motorised setup with a tm1500 im looking at using a dbox for c/s and other stuff recording and streaming etc, thanks again
