hi all,

First off my box is a Cloud ibox 2 plus. i was running vix. basically after my box froze i had to reflash. i flashed vix helios 0.1.2 but it is so buggy, after 5 mins or so i cant bring up my bouquets option by pressing down. The menu wont show up either all i can do ot skip channel up and down. this happens 5 mins are it boots, until then all buttons work.
so i tried to reflash another image, safe for my box, but no matter how many times iv tried it just eont flash, light an all appears on the usb but it just boots normal? i tried a few other sticks but no luck!

any reason why this would be happening? i did the reformat and low level format as well as described on here.

Look to see if you have a file named noforse in the cloudix folder if so rename it to force and flash again.

You could also try this Backup here

That is the format for older bootloaders and could be the reason the image id not flashing.

Older bootloader use xspeedlx folder

Newer bootloaders use the cloudix folder.

yea, i flashed the xpeedlx one earlier, which is the one im on now and cant get off :(

If you look at the file i linked to it has a univesal bootloader included follow the instructions on the image post.

Obviously use the xspeed version of the bootloader it flashes very quickly then after that you need to use the cloudix image versions like the one linked to.

is there a way to double check what bootloader my box is running?

Its an old bootloader because your using and flashing images with the xspeedlx folder system

If you read the instructions on my link it tells you all you need to know.

ok i will try that backup. So after i extract those files, do i place the bootloader folder onto the usb, and put in box then boot...should i see anything happening on the lcd display or what are the cain of events..the brief tut has me confused a little, for i only see the cloudix file on the image folder, or can that just be renamed to xpeedlx?

Nothing happends when i boot the box..i get the usual openvix splash screen.

Tried to flash ther bootloader but nothing happens there either...feel like throwing this box out the window at this point

"Unzip The Universal Bootloader and place both xspeedlx & cloudix folders on your usb stick and flash like an image. Then Flash The Image BackUP"

This bit has me puzzled..we know that i am on the older bootloader, can you step out what actions i must now take, my head is fried today lol

i just noticed when i reboot it says "your Maxi Digital Xp1000 is restarting?

The ibox 2+ & 3 was never supported officially by any image groups so the images you flash can be patched from official images of boxes the ibox was cloned from Max digital was one of them.

At what stage are you at now did you manage to flash any image ?

What is not clear about this mate ?

I doubt you see anything on the display.

Can you use telnet ? Because once you have done this we can check to see if the bootloader flashed.

Run this command in telnet

cat /proc/cpuinfo

This will give us the cpu speed, the old bootloader runs at 500 the new bootloader at 751.

So this will tell us when you have managed to get the new bootloader flashed this has to be done before flashing any image.

Have a couple of USB stick formatted with the HP USB format tool to fat32, i say a couple because the ibox 2+ can be very picky what usb sticks it works with.
