Hi all,

i am following guide to reflash my ibox 3 that stuck on boot screen. No joy so far and suspect i need to get a new usb stick.
question is do i put the folder that extracts (xpeeddl) on stick with files in it or do i just copy the files to the USB stick without that folder.

regards

Depending on your bootloader there are 2 possible folder systems xpeed and cloudix

Its the full folder you need to have on the stick.

Once you have the folder on the stick open up that folder and look for a file called noforce rename this to force and then power down box at the plug then insert stick into the box and power on.

You should also format the usb stick to fat32 with the HPformat tool.

This might be a stupid question but how do i know what bootloader i have or is this dependant on or contained in the rar file with the image i have selected. Incidently its your image for ibox 3 open pli i have downloaded.

You can not really no, if it excepts images in the cloudix folder format you have a later bootloader if it takes images from the xspeed folder system then you have a older bootloader. Try both folder systems it one only take the one the bootloader is suitable for.

so in that case is it a simple matter of renaming folder to cloudx or do i have to download image rar that has that format.

once again ferret thanks. have successfully reflashed box using your ibox 3 openpli 4.0 edition with tsmedia installed after changing flash folder to cloudix.
apart from now knowing i have new bootloader is there any further info this now provides that lets me know what type of image to avoid for future issues.

Not really mate.

Did it come with that bootloader ? If it did it could a patched bootloader meaning you still may have a clone. There i mind field these boxes.

Yes it did come like that. was nothing on box but the openpli image. i have spoken to soon though as after scanning channels and finding all on 28.2. the remote seems to crash and wont allow me to do anything other than go to standby. could this be an image compatibility issue.

Possible i did say just re namimg folders may not work.

This is because the kernel of the image needs to be matched with the bootloader.

ok, so that being the case is there any images on the download section that i can get. have looked through and all seem to be xpeeddl

thanks

I stopped posting them because of the clone thing and the risk of people bricking their boxes.

Ask your supplier for a link to images that will work for your box.

Now know it was defo the problem, downloaded cloudix open pli 4.0 image from web and hey presto, now back up and running. Think i will stick to using it as a receiver at the moment. Now know though that it is genuine cloud ibox 3 v2 as got image from official site.
once again Ferret your help has been invaluable to get me back up and running thanks
