What you mean as "stay the same"?
Yes, unit is locked, everytime you plug the power in, it will ask for the code. I didn't try yet in the car, One my friend bought this unit from a local seller without the code.
The screen does not open, so I needed to open it manually to insert the CD in. The firmware updated successfully and after the update I was be able to see the code on the screen, but unfortunately the last four digit are not accepted!

I was wondering if there is a way to read the code from an eprom or a flash inside the unit.

If it (by 2010) is an RNS-E and he does not take the last 4 Digits of the read code, the only way to Audi ..

No for that you need the sds hack firmware

Not in at moment but have the firmware. You will also need to downgrade first before upgrading .I can send it later tonight .

Does anybody know how to change speech recognition from DE-> EN for a RNS-E 2010+ ?

Its in the adaption settings for the satnav access via vcds

Asked the dealer and they said it's a 100EUR CD that changes the voice recognition to EN.
Is there any other way to do this? Changing the language t EN with VCDS does not work, already tried it.

To set language from unit

Press Setup, then top right soft key, select first menu and scroll to English.

Yeah, done that, the menu is already in EN. Also IC menu was setup for EN.
What I'm really trying to do is change the speech recognition so that I can "talk" to the car in english, not in german.

so change the second digit from the right to 2

Also when you say you have been into the radio/navigation unit with vcds did you change adaption channel 11 to a 1 ?
as theres 2 parts to the sds one is for the telephone bt module and the other is for the navigation .

Is the navigation DVD necessary at any point?
It was my understanding that only one language can be stored in the RNS-E / bluetooth module.
From where/when do I load the EN SDS? Do I need to reset the unit ?
