Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can lend a hand here!

Got a wee Seat Ibizia 1.4 TDI and the battery is randomly going flat. Can be fine for days and weeks but one day - dead.

I read the ECU codes using VAG com and found these:

Anyone have any ideas if this could relate to the fact my battery keeps going flat. I've had the batter tested around 3 times each time ok (Different testers too)

Cheers

Joe

If its randomly going flat, it could be be a faulty door ,boot switch or interior lighting (glove box is one you wouldn't notice )

I though about that - Checked them all. Boot light does not come on when the boot is closed, same with the doors. No glove box light! :( Unfortunately nothing that simple!

Maybe the alternator is not doing its job m8,might need a new/reconditioned one

Check the earth strap under battery tray... They give problems...

Joe could it be a lazy starter motor? I have fixed a few with that problem. It gives the impression your battery is flat but it's not.

thank you for having the decency to report back after you solved the prob!

Back again! haha.

Alternator fixed the problem we where having but today the car just cut out! No warning at all!

AA Guy said the alternator was only putting out 11v - Is this normal or does it sound like that's fecked?

Joe

needs more output is it not about 14v as a norm
