Hi
Both myself and wife have citroen cars.
the wifes electrics have went a bit wonky since hooking up caravan and was wondering if anyone has bought this lexia 3 clone kit of fleabay and if so is it good for resetting faults rather than paying fortune at garage.
thanks chronoman

yes its a good bit of kit if you get one that works ok and know how to use it
as if things get out of hand there is a great deal of damage could be done

not saying it will but be careful
as the Citroen software needs a 5 digit code to change any configurations so a bit safer for the novice than planet

but in fairness not knowing your skill level or anything suggesting other wise how will you use it ?
just to obtain and clear codes ?
as some of the tools actual worth are in the telecoding and live data department

but its cheap and if you get a working unit from china its a powerful tool

really want it to sort wifes indicators flashing double speed and reverse sensors not working.
I also want to add cruise control to my c5 which i have read needs to be turned on .
Pretty much thats about it other than knowing faults on cars to save paying citroen crazy prices
thanks for reply
chronoman

should be doable sounds to me in your wife's car case its a bsi fault or maybe comms 2000 module year dependent that is
and having a lexia diagnostic unit will help but might not be all you will need to be honest but it should let you in to see what's what and activate stuff to check its getting the correct signals etc.

your c5 needs to be configured for the option for cruise control but it may or may not be supported with hardware on your car
i don't know your cars specifics
but with Citroen 5 digit code its easy enough to look anything else you need may require a pin code to program things i would assume

thanks horus
I am presuming you are of mechanical background then.
Do you specifically know citroen as i may try and pick brains later.
My c5 is an 02 2.0 hdi lx model and the wifes is an c4 grand picasso 1.6 hdi 07 plate
cheers chronoman

be very carefull with lexia 3 as its Dealer level equipement

u could end up with more problems than what u started with

plus u need to find a kit that works properly

generaly the cheaper they are the worse quality it is

hi chronoman ..i am a mechanic ..i have a few dealer platforms that i use regularly and pp2000/lexia is onee i use quite a lot

but like fes_786 says the pug pp2000 platform does not require any code entered before configuration changes ect
the lexia platform needs a five digit code to actually get in to re configure
so it acts as a fail safe for those without the code to change any config

i have never retro fitted cruise control in either pug/cit so im in the dark in that department
but as for fault finding on your wifes car ...feel free to ask if i can help your welcome to it

ok thanks
I love tinkering and t.b.h it does sometimes go Pete Tong but i just grudge paying extotianate dealers prices.
Do you know where i could find out how to reset BSI.
I have friends in garage that put on a machine and reset all fault codes but didnt do anything.
I have been reading up and found how to reset berlingo but not c7 ?

im not familiar with resetting a bsi ..but planet should clear codes till the next ignition cycle if a permanent fault is there it will not clear till its repaired
the fault codes should show up as current or present or historic or not present if you get my meaning
what type of scanner did he use to scan the bsi for fault codes ect ?

resetting is not a term i have seen used could you explain what you want to accomplish ?

if u reset the bsi it will reset it to factory
meaning it will wipe it clean then u need to configure and code everything again

like i said if u not experianced with this type of equipment it will cause more harm than good

a virginised bsi cannot be done via pp2000 or lexia it is not able to clear config or id just alter the vin no
it can be virginised i can do that
but only by programmer intervention
and put virgin file into the bsi
depending on type of bsi and also if you have a programmer that supports the eprom in the bsi some are mcu
i can provide a virgin file to clear for most
but the chip will have to be de soldered and read then flashed to the donor bsi sounds more complicated than it is
but still needs tooling to do it ie programmer for eeprom or mcu ect
if your bsi is ok programming wise and only faulty hardware
then i can suggest something else
pm me ile see what i can help with
and if you could have the bsi id nos and variant to hand too may help the process
HTH

thanks horus.
I got another week to go so will contact then.
I do have a eeprom programmer i used for a box a while back is this the same kit?

if it supports the eeprom or mcu on the bsi that should do the trick i think
