The battery of a my van has stopped holding its charge so i had to connect to another everytime i wanted it started. ( ive ordered a new one).
I connected it again this morning to start it and i noticed the engine management light was flashing but wouldnt start but turning over. Ive researched around and its the immob for flashing engine managnement.
Ive tried both keys and still no joy, Ive pretty much tried everything but im still not getting anywere.
Anyone had the same problems or Can anyone help me here....

Firstly on the battery not holding it's charge, have you checked the alternator before you replace the battery ?

Do you have a spare key you could try as well for the chip ?

yes ive had a lot of problems with the battery. I checked the alternator and noticed the wire thats on the alternator was slack. Ive had a new bolt on and still comes slack now and then so i just frequently check it now but it is tight at the moment.

My concern is the engine management light flashing as its just come on without it starting. Ive had it started but i was only a couple of seconds then just died again.

Thanks for your reply

first of all it sounds like your alternator is not working.and second because the battery has run flat it may need a diagnostic running on it and everything resetting. The light coming on is warning you that the engine immobiliser has come on and it is stopping you from starting the car.My guess alternator and ecu reset.

i had the same problem mate my alternater went so i jumped it off another car and it tripped the imobilser had to take it to an auto electrion, luckerly i had only had it 2 days and the garrage i got it from foot the bill as for the new alternater and reprogram of the ecu & imobiliser was about £400.
they needed the security pass number to do it also make sure they reprogram boath keys as they only did 1 of mine and wanted another £30 to do the second as they charge by the hour. robbin bas****s.
