hi, ive just fitted a towbar to my astra sri 2003, when i came to the electrics bit i dint know what to do, the instructions with the tow bar only tell me what the wires from the trailor connect to not what colour my astra wires should be, i would of thought the wires matched up but they dont as i have a fair few different colour wires in my astra compared to the trailor wires, does anyone know where i can get a wiring diagram from so i know what my astra wires are ? thanks

Can't you pick the feeds you want up near the lights the feeds correspond to?

Can't you pick the feeds you want up near the lights the feeds correspond to?

They all just seem to go into a black connector behind each light, it doesnt say on the black connector whats what, thanks

have you got a multi meter? use the meter on each feed and get someone to tap the break turn on the lights put it in reverse ect ect

easiest way as you dont sound to clued up (no ofence intended)

1) take out the back of the lights where the conector fits into,
get some one to hit the brakes note the bulb that lights and follow the metal track to the conector then the wire going to that connector is your wire

do it for all the lights you must connect , also from the bulb there will be 2 metal tracks , 1 will join into all the bulbs which is the earth , follow to the connector to get your earth wire,

the wires from the trailer socket make sure you connect them to both sides where it tells you in instructions as its for safety incase your car bulb goes then 1 side will still work on trailer.
hope it helps.

if your not confident tell me what wires you want and ill get you the colour wires on the car, to do this you will have to give me car details (engine size , petrol diesel ,year etc etc.)

good luck matey:Clap:

Have a look at this wiring code and see if it looks like yours.

thanks for the replies guys, what i ended up doing in the end was, got a circuit tester off a mate, which was a screw driver with a crocodile clip attached to it, used the croc clip to earth it then we plugged the screw driver into which wire we thought was what, say left indicator, turn left indicator on and the screw driver would light up saying that it was live, we actually worked off that diagram, each time the first one we tested for what ever wire we would test the one corresponding to that diagram and it was spot on, so thanks for that, tested it on 2 different trailors just to make sure lol, all working fine, thanks
