I bought a Renault Master Minibus today and I heard a clicking sound from under the dash, by the time I got home it was driving me mad. Anyway, after further investigation it seems to be something to do with the heater blower or at least in that area. Its right behind the glovebox and I there's no visable realys...anyone ever come across this one before? and for the sake of my sanity...do you know how I stop it?

It starts clicking when the ignition is on before the engine starts...

Thanks,

Tam.

Could be your heater motor/blower packing up.Turn the blower of like Dutcho says and see if the noise stops. If it does then its your heater motor/blower that is noisy and may need changing.

It does sound like heater motor. A louder radio may help lol

I found the fault...after stripping out the complete blower unit...theres a plastic flap in front of the blower which closes it off from the air intake in the engine bay..theres a little motor with plastic cogs inside it that open and close this flap and the teeth on one of the cogs are worn down so the motor was running continuously trying to close the flap...the flap raised about an inch then dropped again hence the clicking sound...The noise has now gone thank god! and everything else is working okay...i'm guessing the flap closes when you want heat in the cab...I'll go to Renault now and find out the astronomical price for a replacement part...

the silence is golden!!
