Hi guys so I finally bought a car, Ford Focus Estate 2007 Estate 91,000 miles diesel.

but is not cam belt is chain. I don't know a lot about chains any one had experiences?

thanks

nothing to worry about mate tbh

Just check service history and aux belt and it should be fine.

:proud:

you still need to get water pump changed. think most people think its cam chain and leave that whole area alone thinking it cant go wrong. but for a 2007 car i wouldnt worry. give it till about 80k miles.

it has 91k on the clock mate!! lol ... ex-hsbc area manager car.....thinking about changing it anyway just for peace of mind...as it has full service history and it doesn't say it has been changed! and I grabbed myself a bargain anyway!

chain will out last yer car. anything using the chain system is better as long as the chain dont rattle you wont have a prob as for changing the water pump if the water pump uses a plastic pella then yes change it other than that just do oil filter changes as normal will be fine

I would google that if I was you had loads of cars in the past 35yrs cam chain normally last life time only tensioners need replacing

Replace every 150, 000/125,000 dependent on model. and its a belt. on the 2l

On the 1.8 it can be a belt or chain.

If its a chain then you dont need to worry, Auto data dosnt really help unless you know the engine code!
