where did u get this info from? I did some googling and found you can import one car more or less free.

I don't know how up to date this info is here but it does state that.

Look at the shipping companies (I used good but expensive due to hidden costs shipit) they have plenty of info on what is involved in moving your stuff.

ok, sounds like it aint import tax then but shipping costs. if that is the case ensure your parents look at a number of different companies and get quotes.

Parking is a massive problem in Malta m8.
Do they have residential parking with their accomodation

our friends have underground garage but i agree with Ian,get to vale unless you get up early especially in the main towns it can be a bit of a nightmare but so is Britain. just go and enjoy the Maltese friendly welcome and some gorgeous beaches like and night-life.go to Valletta around midday to see the enactment of the cannon firing etc visit the largest dome church and where a bomb dropped in but didn't explode. also visit the war museum its great.get on an old old bus just for the experience and come back again and if you have time take a trip to gozo, the land that time forgot almost. its a place you either like or don't no middle ground. we love it .have a great time
