Have a 480 super hub and was wanting to get it online.
1)Is it just a question of changing the mac or is a cert file from a working/online active hub needed.
2)If a cert file is needed would one from a DG485 work on a DG480?

Thanx.

As far as I've managed to get is changing the mac and the serial number, I know how to change the certs but have no idea where to get one from, so basically I'm still not online

Go round to a mates a few miles from you and scan for macs, then try them on yours.

I've got a valid Mac, just don't have the certs and or keys, if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be most appreciated

Yeah it's downgraded, but I haven't upgraded back, is that where I'm going wrong?

No you dont need to do that, is it on r19? if it is then try VMDG Hub Tool (Beta-0.3.1) to check the validity of the macs you've got, it will tell you if their alive or dead and then upload them for you.

@bueggie thanks for hijacking my thread, I didnt get an answer lol?

No if you seen where I told the other guy it needs downgraded from it's current firmware r38 to r19 first.

see tutorial here..... https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/cab...d-guide-downgrading-superhub.html#post2439078

@HibbyDave So its a downgrade change mac to a working one then upgrade and it should go online?

Thanx

So I'm trying to check this mac, using that beta version, but not sure if it's working, it changes the mac on the modem, and then restarts it. On the modem itself the top and bottom green lights go solid but the middle one flashes rapidly for about 2-3 mins then goes off and starts flashing rapidly again

Click the "check mac list button" to check mac, it will leave a notepad file on your desktop open it and it says if it's dead or not.

sounds like that ones dead.

It starts the check, resets the modem with the mac and then gives me this error

@HibbyDave Just one futther question mt8, will the mac have to match the serial of the modem your cloning from or can the serial just be random or the one thats already there with a workin mac added?

Thanx.

Your not cloning anything m8, just downgrading from r38 to r19, once that's done then you need macs from a different ubr to yours to work.

Do not clone a Subscribed modem if i was you.

Extracted certificates will match the original & since the only method of extraction is direct access how can you argue out of that one if you get a pull. ;)

Ok I have discovered using the beta hub tool Mac finder that the mac I have is dead.
Is this because my friend is too far away?
I have also left it running on the mac finder tool and all of the mac's it generates and checks come back with either dead or activation page. Is it just a case of going through the long length process, until I get one that says valid or genuine or alive, what is the term the programme uses?

@HibbyDave
I must be missing something, mac changed to a known working one (mates from accross town) his always worked from the old days of the Ambits.
Any ideas what it could be, down graded changed mac, confirmed change in the admin sittings page, its his mac that now shows.

I wish I knew too, got the same problem. Which green lights are on on the side, [emoji663]️arrows [emoji736]tick [emoji687]WiFi?
