[DOWNLOAD] GUIDE Downgrading Superhub and Mac Sniffing

im not 100% but can virgin not ban your NIC MAC. easily spoofed, i used to use smac

I was wondering whether that might be a problem, but as it's a clone of my subbed, surely Virjin would expect the same NIC MAC?

I don't think that's the problem because the Hub lights aren't correct even without any connected devices. (Well up till friday lol) I used to get a fixed blue on the top, with flashing green tick in the middle. Friday i got fixed green on the top with fixed green in the middle. After continuous messing, i'm back to the fixed blue/ flashing green tick. :( lol (my working original has a blue on the top and fixed green tick. :)

Got it working at last :)

Started from the beginning with a newly acquired Hub from the local £1 shop, then realized that if you untick the read certs on the HubTool, it changes to write. lol
(saved using the converter to create a BPI file and telnetting it over... think that's where my problem was?)

Well done mate, I don't know if I would have had the patients to do what you did.
Are you still doing a simplified tutorial?

Yes, i'll knock one up when i get a bit of time. :) Basically the HubTool does it all for you.

Re: [DOWNLOAD] Downgrading Superhub

Interesting.......I thought the cable modem stuff was dead in the water a long time ago??

Does this work the same way as it used to years ago where you have to search for macs on another UBR?

Hi gang, great news on the development, as @pwillo1982 asked do we need to sniff macs from another UBR

Hi All

first of all.. thanks to you all for your input

I have a few questions.

I have a pair of superhub 1, as well as a superhub 3 (480 and a 490)

I currently have my subscription on the 480...at 120mb
but VM has sent out a superhub3 to upgrade me to 152

I just wanted to know... before I do that... is that going to mean I can't use the 480 using the new 490 mac?

superhub 280 what i use for clone i beleve the new 490 u cant cone

Thanks for the advice

I've stuck with the Superhub1

But I am having issues following the instructions to do the mac.

I used to have an original motorola sb5100 with black cat on it.
That....was easy

Anyone have an updated tutorial?

Hi

I still can't get the superhub to connect and keeps rebooting.
Any advice guys?

It is a VGDN480 but I also have a 280 that i could fall back on.

Forgive me for being such a noob, but what can be achieved by this? I have a subbd "Subscribed?" Virgin Internet account and a spare SuperHub2 (not sure exactly which model). Could I give the 2 HUBS the same info and double my speed or something by splitting the coax? Or is purely a case of I did it because I can? As tbh thats how I ended up on this forum. When they sent me the new HUB I had to call them as it wasn't working, the tech asked for the MAC address and a light bulb went off in my head to say "If you have a MAC address from a working VM account, you can make it use the Internet!"

Its more complicated than just using the Mac address mate also you cant use the same mac addy on 2 modems in the same house or area

Thanks for the reply, I am just trying to see the advantage of this as I like tinkering and have a spare superhub collecting dust. Anything I could use it for? Would be amazing to use 2x superhubs to turn say a 60mb line into a 120mb line. I am thinking some sort of software would be needed to be used for managing the packets coming in and out although I am sure its a little more difficult than I make it sound.

In fact, thinking more into it. It doesn't seem possible at all.

ya can clonde ya hub take it to a diff urb area to get it to work

Hi peeps

I have a question, that I can't see that's been mentioned.
Would a Mac from a superhub2 work on the superhub1?

Reason I ask, I have a friend that live a few miles from myself who has the superhub2 that's willing to let me have his MAC etc
I have a spare Superhub1 that I would like to try this with.
