hi guys ive just downloaded a dvd for the missus it came as a image disc file 4.5gb so i burnt this onto a dvd disc inserted it back into the computer but when opened it just has the same as whats in the original file!nothing that will open with media player!

usually when i download things its just a case of unrar burn and away u go, so where am i going wrong with this??

cheers.

Did you give the disc a lucky rub? ;)

What burning software/discs are you using, what's the image? Have you tried opening up the ISO in UltraISO? or mounting it on your PC with VirtualClone Drive?

lol....oh ive tried that already!!

wow go easy on me now exos im no very good at this sort of thing! right ive got win7 so just usually burn with the default programe from that...what ever that might be!!!! im using a philips dvd+rw disc 4.7gb,it says the file type as (Disc Image File (.ISO)....never tried any of these ill go have a look at ultraISO!!

cheers.

Sorry, i forget myself sometimes :)

UltraISO should be able to let you open up the image so you can see if there is any content and it's not just a duff image, this might be a little bit more complicated if you don't know what it is/understand it.

Similarly with Virtual Clone Drive, except this allows you to mount the image as if it is a DVD in a physical drive. This might be the easiest as it will allow to play the disc locally to your PC, so you can then determine if its your disc/software or the file.

good man thanx exos i managed to get it burnt with ultraiso and works perfect!! although it is only a trial version not sure how long its gonna last!! what about virtual clone drive is that a free one??

thanx again.

Like Exos I would also recommend Imageburn for burning ISO images (and many more types) it's free and is probably the best program of it's kind.

Once installed you can just right click on the ISO image and select "burn with imageburn"

The Official ImgBurn Website

i downloaded a game for the wii, its in a pal file, i burnt with nero, but doesnt work.would imgburn change the format and burn it
thanks

wii's are very picky with burnt games.

i had limited success burning games using imgburn , burn it slow at 4xpspeed and use dvd-r's.
not all wii's can play backup disks though, newer wii's are not capable of playing backup disks.
