Technics DVD changer never plays copy DVDs and CDs. Is there secret how to burn DVD /CD?
TY

How are copying them at the moment? more info will help people understand if You are going wrong anywhere, or if It's the player at fault.

Quite a few top end DVD players will not play copied dvds. For playing copied dvds I always used a cheap dvd player like the ones from Asda or Tesco's for about £10 to £15 and never had a problem.

Sometimes, at least in older days, it was type of blank DVD/CD used rather than simple case of copy protection.

If you can't play audio then it's not copy protection that's stopping it.

It's either:

  • DVD player laser doesn't like any blank discs (moreso for older ones)
  • Type/Make of blank DVD/CD. Maybe try a completely different make/type.
  • DVD laser on it's way out. Not common issue if you have no issues at all with original dvd/cd's
  • Type of software used (as mentioned by sneaker)

There may be a code you can enter that will hack the device. That used to be the way of doing it previously, but as most people said, the cheap dvd players were the ones that played anything.

I played some copy DVDs on it but never played one I burn. Maybe someone knows something about different DVDs and how to burn them

When you say "copied" were they burnt, or were they pressed? Are they silvers, or are they purple bottoms.

It could be the media you're using, try using verbatim disks, widely regarded as the best media around.

Sometimes the encoding software that creates the dvd files makes a none standard dvd. What software are you using to make the files and then burn them?

I use nero for burn. I played copy dvds from local DVD rental store. Think they are purple

Nero is fine for burning and I believe would put up a warning if the eve was none standard. Not sure on a disk to disk copy though.

Are you copying originals disk to disk? You will likely need to remove any protection/macro from it first using anydvd or a similar program.

If you're sure you've played copies on it, then I would say its either media being used, or they're not being ripped properly.
