Hi all
I burn my dvd's using ConvertxtoDVD but a friend said that all the ones I burn for her about 1 hour in all go out of sync? Other people say theirs are fine and the odd time they may freeze but no problems with sync. Now my thoughts are:

her DVD player is up the wall but she says its a new player
Bad batch of discs but unlikely as its only her ( I use Aones 16x and burn at 4x)

Any advice and wht could be the problem, is it at my end (dvd burner playing up). Bad programme to use (convertxtodvd)love this programme as it does everything for you and faster than Freemake video convertor and I like how I can add tv series easily.

Whats your thoughts and advice please

Put a chapter every 2mins, always fixes audio sync issues for me. Love ConvertXtoDVD, use it all the time for the rents-in-law and their dodgy old DVD players

also forgot to say would you advise me burning always in this way for everyone

4x speed is fine, slower the better.

I used to use convertx2dvd all the time (even paid for it) but I never used it to burn the discs after conversion. I always got it to make and ISO then I burned that with imgburn. Never had any problem with sync until the most recent version.

I don't use it now as I need to burn Blu-rays and it doesnt do them so I bought VSO video converter from the same company. Much better at doing the job, and with no sync issues. I still don't let it burn though.

I find there's around a 25% speed increase in conversion over convertx2dvd too.

One program I've never had problems with and used for ages was freemake video converter, a completely free program. It always made excellent DVD's and did them quicker than convertx2dvd, but does'nt do blu-rays as quick as vso video converter.

Sync issues are never down to the disc (cheap or expensive) or speed of burn, and very rarely down to playback equipment, it's nearly always down to conversion, and what the PC is doing at the same time as conversion. Video and audio needs converting seperately which can cause the sync issues, especially if the pc is doing other work at the same time. Once the conversion is finished the VOBS created will be out of sync and when burned (using any program) will still be out of sync.

The quality of the input file can also effect the output. If you convert from AVI files (which are always lower than DVD quality in the first place) I find you can get quite a few sync errors. You should always find the best source files, MKV if possible, this way you start off with something that is better quality than DVD and looks a lot better when converted. I know this isnt always possible with zero day cams, but lets face it 90% of those aint worth converting any way.

Never had a problem converting with ConvertXtoDVD and then burning at 4x with nero, I have it set for chapters every 10 mins.
