CD & DVD burning dvd but no subs are on

i got the film THE longest day and have tried twice to burn to dvd but when i burn there is no subs for the german parts on the film even tho in pre-view they are there and checking before converting the subs are there
i use convertxtodvd which is drag and drop
any ideas what i could be doing wrong

yer not resizing it so the subs are "cut off" are you?

Hi mate this all depends if the subs are hard or soft coded..it sounds like your subs are only soft coded so you need to find a sub stb for the film alot of downloads that have subs normally contain a sub stb as well... you need to set it up when burning and will burn along with dvd.There are a couple of sites that provide subs stb where you can just download the sub file but its been a long time since i hae used them and can not remember the names.

Could also be the copy you have was meant for German market and hence no need for subs.
There should also be a setting on the burner software to enable/include subtitles this is off as default and you have to enable it in settings.
 
if your seeing the subs in a preview then you must have a small file .srt or similar in the same directory as the main file -- this will need adding separately when creating the dvd with convertxdvd - once you've added the .avi file expand on the left hand window and there is an option to add sub titles -- add the small file and then burn the dvd .
