CD & DVD mini disk to dvd

a friend has asked me to transfer a boxing match from camcorder ( mini disk ) to DVD
can anyone tell me what to use and if the files need to be converted

u have to connect ur camcoder with ur pc and download ur movie on the harddrive and open any dvd burner copy on to the dvd.correct me if i am wrong.

If you have access to a standalone DVD recorder, you might be able to connect your camcorder to that and record and convert in real time. Ours has a firewire input specifically for that purpose and works a treat.

Otherwise, as baaab said, connect it to your PC via USB or preferably firewire, and capture and convert. Windows has it's own built-in Windows Movie Maker which is quite easy to follow and gives quite good results.

camcorder is a mini dvd then - minidisc s were those plastic audio only things sony were flogging a couple of years back.

Just put the mini dvd directly in your PC dvd tray and thp PC will read it. There is a smaller tray in there especially for these size discs

You should use something like adobe premiere to save your info from the disk to HDD and then copy the files back to full size dvd recordable disk and then you may be able to use your mini dv disk again.
