Have you got the blackberry linked with any contact lists? Like windows outlook etc, if the setting is applied to link with this, and there are less contacts on outlook, it may delete those additions on your contacts. This was a problem on my Storm2, I now have the z10 and use outlook to do my contacts wirelessly both ways, so if i change a contact on my phone, it changes it on outlook, too.
