Someone just gave me a blackberry tablet, I can't read the model number on it, on the side it's a 16GB version, black about 9" screen.

Guess I'll need a charger for it, what's the score with them? any good or rubbish....? I've never had a blackberry you see..... it would seem that it's charging as has the standard charing connection on it....

i'll get it charged and fired up in a bit and see what they are about.

Thanks

right it charges and the red led changes to green but can't switch it on, the power button when pressed changes from RED to GREEN, flashed amber and then powers off, no display etc.....I'll go and have a look for an instruction manual from somewhere. see what it means.

yeah that's the fella mate, just can't get it to switch on, just having a read on the net about it now. see if any one else has had these problems with it. (probably why I have been given it in the 1st place, no one gives away tablets!)

it would seem that it could be the charger.

PC USB and a Smartphone charger is not powerful enough to let the PlayBook boot up.

Desktop manager will recover it from bricked mode and you can lose your info this way.

as with any electronic devices, always back themup regularly.

Would seem that it needs to be turned on before it can charge......looks like I'll have to look for a charger for it.

great, just got a blackberry charger and it's powered on! gave it a reset, (Volume buttons and power) and it's sprung into life! got a password on it though......hmmmmmm

Been reading and the firmware update that's out apparently lets it charge when it's off.

I'll try another factory reset. cheers for the info.

Setting a password for your tablet is optional, and it allows you to automatically lock your tablet after the set amount of time has passed. When your tablet automatically locks it goes into standby mode. This type of password security ensures that if your tablet is lost or stolen, the information on it remains secure.

If an incorrect password is entered ten times, the tablet data is automatically deleted.

good hardware, shite software, and more importantly shite app store, good for browsing on and such, but the lack of apps from the store is a big let down! cant gan wrong for nowt though!

hope your not dealing in stolen goods dibbers or was it found goods :)
