Apple TV ?

Anyone got a Apple TV box for sale ? Must be second gen or later.

Also looking for info on what can actually do with these ? I got iphone 6 and know I can stream movies to TV with it which is why I was it. Save hard wiring phone.

You will proberly be best getting gen 1 or 2 as the 3rd gen can not be Jailbroke.I personally use android set top boxs as the flexibility is fair higher even without messing with them.But if you can jailbreak it then the possibilities are endless.Im sure someone with a bit more know how will tell you what you can and cant do as tbh i have never ownd an apple tv.

I've read online that the 1-2 gen don't work with iOS 8 ? So that's why I need later one :(

The one your looking at is the 3rd generation and cannot be jail broken

Silver Apple TV 1st gen.....can
Black Apple TV 2nd gen 720p can but expensive
Black Apple TV 3rd gen 1080p cannot

If you want to put xbmc on you would be better going the htpc route

Not too worried about jb yet I don't think. Just want to stream stuff atm from phone to TV

Although, what can be done with them jailbroken ?
 
You can use the features installed plus add extra 3rd party software, like xbmc or openelec

Do a search for atvflash they have a video of what it can do

What's the likely hood that a hack will be released for the 3rd generation. ?

I have Apple TV 1st generation with openelec software running xbmc, work well but a bit slow

I wanted something quicker/faster looked at Apple TV 2nd generation, but they go for silly money

Android too slow

Got a dell optiplex ultra thin PC running windows 7 with full HD graphics card with HDMI , I can install what I want works very well fast to...cost me around £100

I agree with what you say but android works very well with all what i have xbmc show box etc etc my box is very fast
 
I looked at android but decided against it, I have netflix and sky go also installed
 
Tbh I probably won't need it hacked yet anyways. If I find I need it i can always get 2nd gen one later.
 
Not jailbroken mine. I jailbroke my ipad and iphone to get moviebox and stream to 3rd Gan Apple tv box.

Good enough until they break the 3rd gen, which could be ages.

Really depends on what you need but sounds like same as me just wanted a non hardwired option.

Reason I'm thinking it is because movie box lol. Got that in iPad and iPhone :) but neither are jailbroken.
 
You're going to want a 2nd gen. Take it from someone who bought a 3rd gen...

3rd gen is essentially an expensive way to pay to watch TV. (E.g. CrunchyRoll, Netflix etc..) streaming from the iPhone is unreliable as hell and doesn't work half the time. I wish I went with a Roku or something similar.

Oh and when I said it was unreliable, I was talking about movie box streaming to it. Half the time it doesn't work.. The movie loads on the device but not OTA.
