I'm afraid we're talking about 2 (or more) different companies. The Wharfedale that make speakers are a UK based Co. that have been making high qualty products for a long time. Even though ownership has changed hands a few times they still make excellent speakers.

If you look at the site linked above you wont find any LCD TVs on there. This is because at some point someone bought the rights to use the same brand name on cheap products made in China and other parts of the far east. This is where Wharfedale branded TVs, DVD players etc come from. Though these products offer 'good value' they are not even close in terms of quality to the speakers made by the real Wharfedale.
