Daft question but here goes :proud:...does this firestick have to have it's own power source? ie plugged into mains and a usb into it?

quite fancied having a little play with these but my power supplys to tv etc are all hidden behind ducting and don't fancy ripping it all out just for this and SHE wont have a lead running down side of telly.

my sony is about 5 years old and it runs the amazon fire stick it use to come up with low power supply but still run it. I now use the offical supply that came with it.

Mine won't run without mains power, (Panasonic tv)

if your tele has two usb ports, you can get cables so the stick can draw power from both usb ports.

I ditched the plug that came with it and put the USB into the TV's USB socket. It came up with a warning that said it's not powerful enough, I dismissed the warning and continued - it works just fine.
The Fire stick is great with Kodi
