So our maudes on about a steam mop as we don't have carpet bar on the stairs (laminate and ceramic tiles) but there's so many I wouldn't have a clue which to get.
I read some are total crap and useless so any recommendations ? not daft dear. I've just seen a few different VAX models appearing on offer, anyone using one of them ?

Don't have one, but I did a bit of research on them during the Black Friday sales, as the adverts you see for them on television look impressive.

I was put off by the level of dissapointed customer feedback.

We have got a Vax model it's a great piece of kit does the job thoroughly and just undo the velcro pad afterwards and rinse under the tap. There are two tanks one is for water and the other tank is for the solution. Make sure you get a bottle of this solution with the mop to avoid any disappointment. Goodluck 10/10 from me with the Vax though.

Tesco had some vax on hotukdeals last night for £19 so I popped and asked to be told they never actually had any in

Don't bother with the H20, as a handheld steam cleaner it's OK but as a floor mop too much water and not enough steam.

Got a Vax when it was on offer a few months ago, tank for water and a smaller tank for water detergent mix, very fast heat up time and will do wood, tiles, lino and carpet, wooden floor is dry in a couple of mins and def does a good job cleaning wise.

Bought a cheapo one from eBay (Babz I think) last year.

The handle has snapped... But a bit of gaffer tape and it works fine again.
Inly really use it in the kitchen where the lad throws his food all over, but it does work very well and heats up quickly.

Not used all the hand held bits, probably never will. But as far as cleaning goes, it is better than a traditional mop for sure.
