what speed bandwidth are you getting ?

it is a vpn so it does not affect the speed i am getting from the binload program and it redirects all internet traffic browsers and emails you can have it for a month with a 30 day money back guarantee to try it out

With a VPN, all your traffic passed through their server so your max speed is dependant on how much bandwidth they allocate for your connection. Does it allow you to still max out a 50mb or 100mb connection ?

this is from their site but you could have a look your self I only have 10mb
There are a number of factors that will determine the speed you get behind a VPN server. The most obvious factor is your internet speed to begin with, and the distance between your physical location and the location of our VPN server nodes. For example connecting from Thailand to our New York VPN server is 8660 miles away, and so some speed loss is going to be inevitable. The closer you are to our VPN server locations, there is less chance you'll experience speed loss. Our software also has an in-built 'Speed Guide' feature which will help determine the fastest VPN server for your connection. Given the fact we have servers in 25+ countries, speed shouldn't be a problem for you.

i have asked them on live chat will let you know when i get an answer

right i have spoken to them and they say it will only depend on the speed of the server you are connected to not their server

it has got to be worth a months sub to try it out as the charge in dollars $11.52 a month = £7.23

Ah I get you might have a look my self, £7 aint a bad deal and I download xbox games every day

just to let people know I am having problems getting Altbinz to connect and so i tried grabbit but keep getting 408 error so i have contacted their support people(HMA) they suggested setting pptp but that was no good

edogg

I have now contacted HMA for a refund as this morning i had to disconnet from their VPN to send emails and AltBinz my newsreader client will not connect and neither does grabbit although i dont know enough about grabbit to mess with settings

I thought you only get capped / traffic shaped if you exceed a certain download limit, how is IP hopping going to change how much is being downloaded through your modem?

Virgin amongst others traffic shape based on protocol (P2P and newsgroups) during peak period. VPN should allow you to get around this.

no refund i used to much band width more than 10gb so can anyone advise how to connect grabbit or preferably altbinz because neither will connect using this vpn but the binload free trial does

edogg

hma can change your ip and country so virgin cant see where the connection is coming from

edogg

that is not how it works, it encrypts the traffic so virgin can't tell what sort of traffic it is.

Also to the destination site (nothing to do with virgin here), it also appears the traffic is coming from the VPN server so for example if you use a US based VPN server it appears your PC is in the US which can be useful for sites which lock content based on geo-location determined by IP address. This for example is how BBC stops iplayer content working for people outside of the UK

good explanation m8 but it does also change your ip address as often as you like just right click on the task bar icon and change ip
