This is only for those of us lucky enough to live in the beautiful North East of England - Argos have just opened a store called Clearance Bargains in Stanley, County Durham.
They have all of their end of line stock there, changing constantly at prices up to 60% off advertised retail catalogue/store price.
It is particularly good for electricals such as LCD T.V's and Ipods, cameras etc, but has absolutely everything from curtains to freezers.

cheers for letting others know earwig999, nice to see that they do them elsewhere. They are a real good bargain outlet.

just checked the e-bay shop, a lot of the stuff on there is refurbished, and seems a bit more expensive than the shops (wii for over £200 inc postage, was only £160 in our local store), but still quite a good find for those who don't have a store close by.

Depends. Upto 60% AFAIK, but could be more.

Most goods will be damaged packaging, returns from their 16 day money back guarantee, but tested as working and end of line stock, that has been replaced with new models etc.

yep they sometimes do have some good bargains in there , i pop over to the corby one every now and then

hope this comes to luton
might just be worth the petrol upnorth though if i need to buy in bulk

stanleys only 10-15 mins up the road from us, went up the other day and bought a computer desk for 29.00 instead of about 80.00 not in bad condition but a couple of factory mistakes (if i had paid full pice it would have gone back) some of the stuff was over priced even though it was a clearance.

did not look at the electricals as we only went for a desk and Mr D likes to go for what he wants and leave.....

We have a similar place in north wales, which used to do all general catalogue returns, but more recently its become a 'Littlewoods Clearance'.
Amazing shop... I've made a nice bit of cash on ebay buying and selling!

Well, I didnt know about this until earwig enlightened us :)
Just picked up a brand new dvd recorder, yea its Alba but for £23 I cant complain. I only got it cos I wanted some quick and cheap to copy my vhs videos (home movies).

There is refurbished stuff but comes with 12month warranty anyway but there is brand new stuff going as well.

What I do say is check the total price with delivery as you may find a similar priced one in the shops.

total price inc. delivery was £31. I still cant complain. And no damage! I ordered a dvd player from eBuyer twice and both times it arrived damaged, big dents. This one is no probs at all. Came within 3 days of winning the auction.
They do offer postage deals on bulk buying so can save money if you win a number of items.

I used the recorder at the weekend, I had a old VHS and quality isnt bad, vhs quality of course.

And also came in handy as I was out on Saturday nite and so recorded the rugby!!!

Came with a DVD+RW so I used that. Dead easy to use.

Only works with + and not the - variety.

So far, for a budget recorder, Im more than happy with it.

Damn it, it would be like visiting santa's grotto going there!

I even visited http://www.clearancebargains.co.uk/ thinking you could buy online... Arghhhhh

No doubt there won't be a store like it up my neck of the woods anytime soon!! Grrr
