Carphonewarehouse free laptop offer

Hi guys, saw this offer and thought its too good to be true. What are your views? Cant see anywhere what length this contract is. Its a good laptop tho.

My dad has gone for this offer, laptop was suppose to come today but not heard anything form him yet to say he's got it, also he said you have a two year contract with them.

Lappy he's getting is suppose to be a dell inspiron 1520, wireless router and they also said they are bumping his speed up to 8meg and he pays i think he said was £19.99 a month

saw this too and ignored it as it sounds similar to a previous scheme.. cant remember who but anyway I am pretty certain that during the minimum contract of two years you have little say in how the service may changes in terms of price etc...

over time you would have paid for the laptop and more I suspect.

the previous scheme was with Orange and that was 2GB per month. this offer look much better 40 GB download

aol broad band is pathetic in my area.only 5.12 line

still use aol now but going to move soon a there traffic shaping is bad 1 meg line reduced to 56k speeds ater 5 till midnight

i'm with AOL and don't suffer any traffic shaping, but can only get a 512 connection (due to exchange distance).
I've found it very reliable, but I'm going to move onto a ADSL max provider, as I should be ablr to double my speed this way.
I'd still recommend them though.

migrating to another provider wont do much good, it wont put you onto adsl max automatically, you will need to pay an adsl regrade fee no matter where you go for that to happen, will cost you £15-25
